Scott Pankratz
Executive Director / Co-FounderScott is an outdoor educator, science teacher, entrepreneur, and father. He is passionate about building innovative partnerships that create environmentally responsible citizens. Prior to EPI, Scott taught high school physics and biology, and spent several seasons river guiding, ski patrolling, and leading wilderness trips for the National Outdoor Leadership School. These interests brought Scott to the Teton Science School Graduate Program which he completed in 1996. While working for the National University of Costa Rica on a sea turtle monitoring project in an isolated area of NW Costa Rica, EPI was conceived and later developed as Scott’s master’s thesis at the University of Montana. After 10 years of leading EPI, Scott was awarded the Blanche Hornbeck Award for outstanding work in the field of nature education from the Roger Tory Peterson Institute. Scott spends his free time with his wife, son, and daughter, on the trails and rivers of the Western US.
