EPI strives to tread lightly on the planet while pursuing our mission, and to set an example for our staff, students, and participants. We accomplish this through a commitment to sustainable business practices.
Sampling of green activities
Including leave no trace curriculum, sustainable tourism best practices, our extensive recycling program, commuter challenge for staff, sustainable purchasing guide for all products we use (from paper to t-shirts to cleaning supplies), and conducting a greenhouse gas assessment of our facilities and operations.
Through our commitment to sustainability we strive to:

- Reduce water and energy consumption
- Reduce the use of toxic chemicals
- Minimize the creation of waste that goes to landfills
- Improve indoor air quality
- Demonstrate community leadership in stimulating markets for green products
