Leatherback sea turtle emerging from nest

Though it may be small now, this leatherback sea turtle may go on to join the ranks of the largest marine reptiles on earth. The hatchling's mother, like those measured and monitored by our students, likely hatched on the same beach decades ago, has swum around the world and weighs as much as a small car.
