Participate in Conservation on a Grand Scale

Intelligent, curious and physically impressive, whales are remarkable animals to be near. Aboard the research vessel Pez Sapo, you’ll scan the shimmering blue horizon for fins. At night, you’ll sleep beneath the stars on pristine beaches. And your work will support conservation efforts to ensure yours won’t be the last generation to experience the glory that is the Sea of Cortez.
Discover a Treasure at Sea Called Biodiversity

In John Steinbeck’s “The Log from the Sea of Cortez,” he spends several weeks aboard a vessel studying tidal pools and cultures along Baja’s coast. And he is transformed. Such is the power of time spent in a place of marine riches. You’ll snorkel over coral reefs collecting data for vital research. Swim with sea lions. Kayak beneath the island cliffs of Espiritu Santo. And study ancient cultures. Steinbeck-like epiphanies are sure to follow.
Welcome to Yellowstone, the Birthplace of Conservation

Experience the power of conservation where it began — in Yellowstone, the world’s first national park. On EPI’s Yellowstone Wildlife Ecology Program, you’ll walk among bison and elk. Track grizzlies across ancient volcanic plateaus. And howl at the moon in the hope a wolf howls back. Our programs conduct meaningful science in a landscape so unique, it inspired the entire idea that places and animals deserve protection.
There is Only One Galapagos
Nothing inspires conservation in a person quite like time spent among the giant tortoises, iridescent finches, volcanic landscape and rich waters of the Galapagos Islands. The reason is simple. This little archipelago off the coast of Ecuador hosts a riot of life unmatched anywhere on the planet. You’ll examine, explore, learn and, above all, wonder.
Sea Turtles in Costa Rica
Our Sea Turtle Ecology Program on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast has changed the lives of hundreds of students and done monumental good for the protection of an endangered species and an imperiled ecosystem. You’ll hold and study a reptile that has been on earth for more than 100 million years: the Leatherback sea turtle. Walk beneath lush rainforest canopies and learn about the biodiversity of flora and fauna in the tropics. Exchange ideas about life, science and the world with Costa Rican students. Can 12 days change the course of your life? Guess that depends on how and where you spend them.
