Julio Muñoz

“I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and help my community.”

Finding a Deeper Connection to Nature

Julio was always drawn to the environment; his favorite subjects in school are the sciences because of their relation to the natural world.

During the EPI Galapagos course, Julio finally got to make his interest in the environment a reality. He gained practical tools that he can apply to daily living, like cultivating a vegetable garden, restoring native habitat through invasive plant eradication, and how to conduct his own research project.

Julio is ready to put these skills to work, volunteering with EPI’s partners, the Galapagos National Park and the Charles Darwin Research Center.
