Jeremy A. Enriquez M.Sc.

Belize Program Manager
jerry@ecologyproject.org

Jerry is originally from the beautiful town of Punta Gorda in the southernmost part of Belize. At an early age he achieved a Diploma in Education from Belize Teachers’ College and served as a teacher in elementary and secondary school in his hometown. He completed his Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Psychology and Sociology at Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN, and his Masters degree in Development Studies at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica. For several years prior to his involvement with EPI, he worked as a Development Consultant for a number of international, governmental, and non-governmental organizations. For fourteen years through his work as an Academic Director of the School for International Training study abroad program, he worked with hundreds of U.S. university students, mentoring them through their life-changing field-based ecology program in Belize. Jerry joined EPI in 2014, sharing its vision of building conservation-minded citizens. During his free time, Jerry writes a weekly, thought-provoking column in Belize’s leading national newspaper to raise awareness on various issues affecting Belize.

Connally Canto BSc.

Belize Program Coordinator
connally@ecologyproject.org

A proud Belizian, Connally grew up in the Belize District and now lives outside of Belize City. She loves living outside of the city because of the abundant wildlife, starry skies, and peace and quiet. She has an extensive background in environmental work with an Associate's Degree in Environmental Science and a Bachelor's in Natural Resource Management. Now, she works in EPI's Belize office as the Program Coordinator. Attracted to EPI because of the focus on international collaboration and environmental stewardship, she can't wait to work with younger generations to cultivate positive interactions with nature and help them understand how we are all part of something bigger than ourselves. Connally loves exploring new places and spending time outside reading, and she is also part of the Caribbean Youth Environmental Network.
