Sierra Deimling

Alumni Program Coordinator

Originally from Park City Utah, Sierra found her way to Montana by way of the University of Montana's Environmental Studies program. There, she also received a concentration in International Development Studies from the Davidson Honors College. A semester spent camping in red rock canyon country with the Wild Rockies Field Institute ignited a passion for place-based environmental education that took her all the way to Costa Rica. There, she worked at a Zero Waste Ecology, composting and growing vegetables alongside the dense jungle of the Cloudbridge Nature Reserve.

Before joining EPI in 2021, Sierra co-led the Montana Conservation Corp's first official all-women's trail crew in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, leaving her with a crippling coffee, gummy worm, and mountain air addiction.

As EPI's Alumni Program Coordinator, she's excited to be surrounded by individuals who believe in the power of experiential education and enjoys connecting to the alumni who've been inspired, influenced, and changed by EPI courses - and who continue to pursue conservation projects in their local communities.

Outside of work, you can find Sierra sharing homemade meals around campfires, borrowing other people's dogs, and exploring the Western wildlands.
