Bailey grew up in Gardiner, MT, right at the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park, an upbringing that sparked her passion for the outdoors and a growing curiosity about the natural world. She earned a BS in Biology with minors in Education and Environmental Policy & Decision Making from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. During her studies, she spent a semester in Patagonia conducting conservation research on local ecosystems.

Outside of the classroom, Bailey has worked with youth across a wide range of ages — K through 12 — through seasonal roles as an environmental educator with a non-profit Outdoor School, a ski instructor, and an outdoor program coordinator and trip leader.

When she's not working, she loves to frolic in the woods in any capacity, whether hiking, backpacking, whitewater kayaking, skiing, or simply spending time in a beautiful place.
