Tyler Lau

Yellowstone Program Supervisor

Tyler is originally from Hong Kong and California and currently lives in Missoula, Montana. He has a background in teaching environmental education to primary school students, as well as conservation and natural resource skills and education to young adults through conservation corps and volunteer groups. He holds dual degrees in Environmental Systems focused on Ecology, Evolution and Behavior and a Urban Studies and Planning focused on Sustainable Transportation and Development from UC San Diego.

Tyler is excited to join EPI because of the organization’s mission to empower youth through nature and science. As an instructor, he believes it is important to pass on knowledge and support students on their educational journey, and finds field-based programming and instruction to be an important method for teaching and learning.

In his free time, Tyler loves being outdoors and enjoys rock climbing, backpacking, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking with his partner and their two adventure cats and spending peaceful days by rivers, lakes, and oceans.
