Bailey was born and raised in Gardiner, Montana, near the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park. This unique upbringing inspired a deep passion for the outdoors and a curiosity about the natural world. Bailey earned a B.S. in Biology with minors in Education and Environmental Policy & Decision Making from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. During her studies, she spent a semester in Patagonia conducting conservation research on local ecosystems.

Bailey has worked with youth of all ages, K-12, in various seasonal roles, including environmental educator with a nonprofit Outdoor School, ski instructor, and outdoor program coordinator and trip leader. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors through hiking, backpacking, whitewater kayaking, skiing, or simply relaxing in beautiful natural settings.
