Kai currently lives in Montana, although she grew up in the Chicago area. Kai attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and earned a B.S. Degree in Environmental Science with minors in Spanish, Leadership, and Entrepreneurship. After graduating, she taught English in China for one year and then decided to pursue work as an outdoor environmental educator in New Hampshire and Washington state. She sprinkled in conservation and restoration work between seasons and became a Wilderness Ranger in the Boundary Waters in Minnesota, and later a Park Ranger in Glacier National Park. Kai enjoys outdoor hobbies, dancing, knitting, and getting to work with students in beautiful areas.
