Olivia Gowell
Yellowstone Instructor
Olivia’s childhood exploring the coast and mountains of New England instilled in her a love for the outdoors. This, along with a passion for understanding the world on an atomic level, pushed her to earn a dual degree in Chemistry and Forestry from the University of Vermont.
She has spent hundreds of hours in academic, professional, and research settings collecting ecological field data, including one field season searching for Vermont’s remaining old growth stands. All of these experiences gave her the gift of noticing–of seeing the natural world more vividly and forming a connection to it.
She is thrilled to have the opportunity to facilitate this same connection that was so impactful for her for youth while working for Ecology Project International. With experience leading youth backpacking, bikepacking, and rafting trips in Montana, she is excited to bring her background in outdoor facilitation and forest ecology research to EPI.
In her free time, Olivia is either trail running, cooking, biking, or playing cards with friends.
