Araceli Vargas

Recruitment and Communications Coordinator

Araceli is originally from Loreto, Baja California Sur, and currently lives in La Paz. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication and is self-taught in graphic design, integrating visual and educational communication into her work.

Throughout her career, she has worked as an educator in shelters for migrant children, as well as supporting teachers who work in schools with highly mobile student populations. She has also taught at the secondary school level and has been actively involved in civil society organizations in her community. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to education with a strong social and contextual focus.

Her connection with Ecology Project International dates back to her high school years, when she participated in some of its activities. That experience sparked a deep interest in experiential learning, collaborative work, and appreciation for her region—interests that now motivate her to be part of EPI in a new professional stage.

In her free time, she enjoys exploring nature, hiking hills, and observing the sky, flora, and fauna. She also likes to spend time reading and drawing, practices she approaches with enthusiasm and a constant sense of discovery.
