Mónica Condes

Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator

Mónica is originally from Sonora, Mexico, but has called La Paz, Baja California Sur home since she was a baby. Her roots in this vibrant region have shaped her deep commitment to community, conservation, and education.

Mónica holds a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and brings a rich background in the monitoring and evaluation of social and environmental projects. She has worked with respected organizations like World Vision México and The Nature Conservancy, leading community-based initiatives in rural areas. Her passion for youth education and conservation has also been reflected in over 15 years of volunteer work with the Scouts of Mexico, where she led non-formal education programs focused on environmental awareness.

She is thrilled to join EPI because she believes in the transformative power of connecting young people with nature through hands-on learning. Mónica admires EPI’s mission and feels fortunate to contribute to an organization that inspires curiosity, awareness, and meaningful action.

Outside of work, Mónica enjoys exploring nature, storytelling, and engaging in creative projects. In 2017, she won a state-level illustrated children’s book contest with her story *IBO: A Story About Rock Paintings*, a book that celebrates the cultural identity of Baja California Sur and encourages a sense of wonder and respect for the natural world.
