Joselyn was born in San José and raised in Heredia, Costa Rica, where she currently lives in San Rafael de Heredia. She holds dual Costa Rican-Panamanian nationality and a deep love for both countries.

She is a Tropical Biologist and Natural Resources Manager, graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica. Her background includes environmental education as a tour guide at a wildlife sanctuary, as well as facilitating workshops on amphibians, birds, and conservation for people of all ages and backgrounds. She is passionate about making biodiversity accessible and showing that even small, everyday actions can make a meaningful difference for nature.

Joselyn is excited to join EPI for its hands-on approach to involving people in real conservation projects and inspiring the next generation of scientists, educators, and conservation leaders. She firmly believes that caring for nature starts with knowing it — and that knowing it starts with loving it.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, hiking, wildlife photography, birdwatching, and traveling. She also has a curiosity for other cultures and languages, and values time spent with family and friends.
