Christian Bazzano

Yellowstone Program Supervisor

Originally from Tennessee, Christian has now called Montana home for the last five years. He recieved his MA in Philosophy from the University of Montana, focusing on the intersections of environmentalism, community engagement, and philosophy. Christian spent a year studying and researching experiential education in Nepal and has since worked in several roles in the outdoor industry.

A former Alaskan commercial fisherman, whitewater guide, and backpacking instructor, Christian found his passion in leading and facilitating environmental and experiential education programs. He instructed for the Wild Rockies Field Institute and then as an EPI instructor in Yellowstone.

After working in EPI's Admissions office, Christian is thrilled to be returning to his roots in the Yellowstone program as the Program Supervisor. He has found in his roles as both a student and educator that experiential education programs offer formative and incomparable experiences for students. Watching students leave programs with a newfound passion as stewards for environmental change and working to dismantle barriers of access to the outdoors fuels Christian’s passion as an educator.

Outside of EPI, Christian is an avid climber, skier, and backpacker. A certified Wilderness EMT, you can typically count on him being out of service in his free time. When he’s home, Christian can be found with a book in his hand or watching a movie. Above all, Christian believes community is wealth and loves to spend quality time with his friends in Missoula.
