Mia Wais
Director of Philanthropy
Mia is originally from California and now lives in Texas. She is excited to join EPI because its work combines evidence, equity, and real impact for people and communities. The organization’s mission closely aligns with her experience using strategy and collaboration to support meaningful, values-driven change.
She brings more than 16 years of nonprofit leadership experience to EPI, supported by a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in Business and Education, as well as a certificate in Multiple Intelligence Learning. Her career has included work in health care, housing, and disability advocacy, where she has focused on growing organizations, building strong teams, and turning big ideas into real-world impact. She is energized by work that blends strategy with heart, which is what drew her to EPI.
Mia has not received formal awards in the science, conservation, or education fields.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking and walking, exploring bookstores, going on food crawls, and discovering new places, whether that means traveling to a new country or exploring a new trail.
