Paola Borgo
Mexico Instructor
Paola, originally from Sonora, discovered her calling during a childhood visit to Sea World that awakened her fascination with marine life. Years later, as a Marine Biology student at UABCS, she channeled that initial interest into a responsible, conservation-focused approach, specializing in cephalopods and dedicating herself to environmental education.
She joined EPI in 2021 after working as a nature guide, seeking to move beyond tourism and plant seeds of awareness in young people. "They're the ones who will inherit this planet," asserts. Paola complements her scientific work with skills in photography, music, and skating, along with a deep spiritual connection to nature.
Inspired by her elementary school's nature club - where they studied creek water, observed wildlife, and hiked - Paola cultivates what she calls "the domino effect of awareness": By helping youth reconnect with nature and understand we're part of it, this awareness will then spread to their schools and communities.
