Mauricio Lobo
Senior Accountant and Grant Compliance Lead
Mauricio is from Costa Rica and has over ten years of experience in finance, administration, and project management within international NGOs and development projects. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Costa Rica, a technical degree in Accounting from Universidad Fidélitas, and is currently completing a master’s in Project Design and Management with a focus on International Cooperation.
He has served as a Financial Officer at Hivos, leading budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance for multi-country projects. His earlier roles provided expertise in customer service, logistics, procurement, and human resources, giving him the ability to manage operations from multiple perspectives.
To strengthen his leadership and planning skills, Mauricio has pursued certifications in transformational leadership, agile planning tools, and technical accounting. This combination of academic preparation, hands-on financial management, and continuous development enables him to bring solid financial oversight, strategic project design, and a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to his work.
He is motivated by opportunities where his efforts directly support positive social and environmental impact. In his free time, Mauricio enjoys cooking, swimming, and hiking.
