Paula Román
Field Program Reservation and Vendor Coordinator
I was born and raised in Barva de Heredia, where I have always felt a deep connection with nature. Since I was a child, my parents taught me to appreciate, care for, and be a part of nature. When I was just three months old, they took me to the beach for the first time, and since then, my love for the ocean has never left me.
During high school, I took a tourism course that sparked my interest in the countryside and led me to study Ecotourism Management at the National Technical University (UTN) and to obtain my certified tour guide license from the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT).
With over 15 years of experience in tourism and environmental education, I have worked in logistics, coordination, and fieldwork with students. I have also collaborated with travel agencies and hotels, which has given me a broad perspective and the skills necessary for my current role at EPI. I started as a field program assistant and now serve as the Field Program Reservations and Suppliers Coordinator. In my free time, I enjoy hiking outdoors, working out at the gym, visiting coffee shops, and discovering new places in Costa Rica, especially waterfalls and beaches.
