Melissa Brand

Yellowstone Instructor

Melissa Brand, originally from Madison, Wisconsin, but now residing in Missoula, Montana, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Ecology Project International. With a degree in Sustainability Science and Practice, and a minor in Wilderness Studies from the University of Montana, Melissa's academic background is perfectly aligned with her role at EPI. Her extensive involvement in experiential learning programs as a student equips her with unique insights to enrich her teaching. During summers, Melissa has led youth on multi-week wilderness canoeing and backpacking trips across the United States and Canada, fostering a love for outdoor adventure and environmental stewardship in young minds. Joining EPI, she looks forward to building a strong community through shared outdoor experiences and deepening the understanding of the environments they explore. Melissa is particularly enthusiastic about developing a connection with Yellowstone and helping others do the same. In her leisure time, she enjoys cross-country skiing, hiking, canoeing, playing guitar, and soaking up live music with friends. With a perpetual travel itch, Melissa relishes in planning trips, both grand and modest, showcasing her passion for exploration and adventure.
